Artist statement

I consider how wearers get pleaser and decorated they body when I make jewelry. In a same time I has been continually designed it gives interested point to wearers and has natural form itself. Also I try to make all my works has little movement that becomes well structured of composite ornaments.
My jewelry works begins from basic shapes.
Spheres, circles, and cubes that are made of metal are combined together to create ornaments with dynamic rhythms and density. All of these works have variable elements. That is, their components turn or change position to alter the look, structure, and color of the entire piece and display different visual images.
Variable ornaments enable a kind of "participation" when the wearers operate the movable pieces to create the look they want.
This is my way of communication with wearers thought jewelry.

장신구를 제작하는 과정에서 나는 단지 몸을 장식하는 장식품이라는 것 이외에 착용자가 갖고 놀 수
있는 재미있는 요소를 어떻게 표현 할 수 있을까? 그리고 그것이 형태와 기능적으로 얼마나 자연스럽게, 그리고 얼마나 유쾌하게 해석할 수 있을까를 끊임없이 생각하며 디자인을 한다.
장신구안에서 적지만 움직임이 있고 그 움직임이 구조적으로 잘 구성되어 있으며, 전체형태를 깨지 않는 장신구를 제작하기 위해 노력한다.
나의 장신구는 기본적인 형태인 원, 사각, 구 등의 도형에서 시작된다. 이 도형들이 여러 방식의 조합을 통해 동적인 리듬감과 밀도감을 갖춘 장신구들로 표현된다. 금속공예 기법 중 리벳팅기법을 주로 사용한 나의 작품들은 모두 가변적인 요소, 즉 작품들 일부가 회전하거나 위치가 바뀌는 등의 움직임에 따라, 작품의 외형, 구조, 색감 등이 변하며 상이한 시각적 이미지를 연출한다.
또한 이러한 요소들과 기법은 색감의 변화와 형태에 따라 하나의 장신구에서 두 가지 이상의 연출이
가능한 장신구로 표현 되며 착용자로 하여금 작품을 직접 조작하게 하는 일종의 ‘참여’를 가능하게 하여 작품들에 유희적인 성격을 부여하고자 한다.
